The Quiet Book

“There are many kids of quiet: First one awake quiet … Trying not to hiccup quiet”

This quaint bedtime book explores all the different types of quiet that can happen during the day, ranging from the oh-no moments to just enjoying the simple things in life moments.

This book is really about the illustrations, they just give you a warm and fuzzy feeling. The “different types of quiet” will resonate with four-year olds and up.

  1. Today I got to hear Deborah Underwood talk about picture book writing. Apparently “The Quiet Book” was conceived while she was waiting for a concert to start. It was then that she noticed the different types of quiet around her. The hush before the conductor starts. Ideas really can come from anywhere.
